The NSWC, Corona, METBENCH Calibration Management System Development Team (comprised of NSWC, Corona, and American Technical Services, Inc., scientists and technicians), was awarded the 2011 Department of the Navy Information Management/Information Technology Excellence Award, at AFCEA West 2011. The Team was recognized for the development and implementation of the Metrology Bench-top (METBENCH), and METBENCH Calibration Management System (MCMS); a net-centric enterprise solution to address both afloat and ashore calibration management challenges. The System has been installed on 142 surface ships as well as several calibration laboratories, resulting in significant reduction in calibration process times, by an average of more than 80%. The award was presented to Dr. William Leubke, Technical Director for NSWC, Corona, Richard P. Schumacher, METBENCH/MCMS program manager, and Juliuzs Adamczuk, senior computer scientist with American Technical Services, Inc. |
